Strawberry Point Christian Camp Info

Our Mission
Strawberry Point Christian Camp exists to share God’s love through the camping experience. We want every camper to grow in faith, make new friends, and discover confidence while enjoying the beauty of creation.

Our Story
Tucked away on Ice Lake, Manitoulin Island, Strawberry Point is only accessible by boat. With no roads, no electricity, and no running water to our cabins, camp offers a simpler way of life that lets kids unplug and focus on what really matters: faith, friendship, and fun.

Facilities
Camp life is simple and full of adventure. Campers stay in rustic cabins with their counsellors, spend their days outdoors, and gather in the Pavilion or Multi-Purpose Building for games, songs, and activities. The lake is our playground, with swimming, canoeing, and waterfront fun, while the field and campfire circles provide plenty of space for games, sports, and evening programs.

Food at Camp
Mealtimes are a highlight of each day. Our cooks prepare fresh, hearty meals that kids love, and there is always room for afternoon tuck or a surprise themed meal. Special dietary needs are looked after with care.

Health and Safety
Campers are in good hands with trained staff and a nurse on site 24 hours a day. Most bumps and scrapes are minor, but if extra care is needed, we are close to local clinics and hospitals. Parents are always contacted if anything beyond basic first aid is required.

Respecting God’s Creation
We believe the outdoors is one of the best classrooms for learning about God’s love and care. Because of that, we do our best to respect the natural world around us. Camp life is intentionally simple, with eco-friendly soaps, composting toilets, and practices that reduce waste. Campers are encouraged to appreciate creation and to leave it as beautiful as they found it.

Special Needs
We welcome campers with a wide range of needs and work with families to make sure each child has a safe and positive experience. Some campers are able to participate independently, while others need more one-on-one care. In those cases, we ask that a support person attend camp with your child so they can fully enjoy the program and take part in every activity.

Staff and Volunteers
Our team is made up of counsellors, leaders, and volunteers who love God, love kids, and love camp. Many grew up here themselves and now give back by leading games, teaching Bible classes, or serving in the kitchen. With a strong camper-to-staff ratio, each child is known, cared for, and encouraged throughout the week.

Board of Directors
Behind the scenes, a volunteer board provides guidance and support to keep camp strong. They bring years of connection and care, ensuring Strawberry Point continues to thrive for future generations.

Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, and we trust the Bible as God’s inspired word. Salvation is a gift of grace through faith and baptism, and the church is called to worship, unity, and mission.

We encourage families to contact us before registering to discuss individual situations. If your camper requires one-on-one support, we ask that a support person attend with them to help ensure a positive experience.
